Guitar Playing Tips
Three Vital Beginning Guitar Playing
Tips
There are many guitar playing tips out there, but
some of them are much more important than others. In this article, you’ll learn three things that every guitar
player on the planet should do before they start playing and how those things can make or break their practice
sessions. If you're looking for a great way to learn the guitar we recommend Jamorama.

The Right Posture
The most important of all guitar playing tips is to
maintain good posture. Slouching on the couch while watching tv and playing your guitar is not a good way to learn
anything. You need to learn how to hold your guitar and yourself if you want to strengthen the right muscles,
remember how to play each note, and not hurt your neck or your back.
Make sure to sit up straight and hold the guitar with
your legs. A good armless chair is good for this while classical guitar players might consider getting a foot rest
for their left foot to rest on while they hold the guitar.
Proper Picking
Another of many guitar playing tips is to learn how
to hold your pick properly. Ideally, when using a pick to play the guitar, you will hold it firmly but a little
loose. If you hold it too tightly, you can risk tiring your arm too quickly. If you don’t hold it tightly enough,
you might have problems with the pick falling out of your hand or worse yet, falling into the guitar (which is
never fun to fish out).
Also make sure to pick the right kind of pick – one
that is not too firm or too soft. A beginner might want a softer pick because they’re easier on your body and make
softer, easier to deal with noises than many other, thicker picks.
Practicing the Right Things
While everyone knows that practice is important, one
of the truly great guitar playing tips is to practice arpeggios and chords. Chords are going to give you the basis
of millions of songs and the ability to start hearing the sounds around you more effectively, but arpeggios are the
basis for all advanced playing and are going to help you learn how to do a lot more with your guitar much quicker.
Instead of jumping right into harder playing, the Arpeggios are going to be effective in building up your speed and
knowledge of notes on the fretboard.
If you are really and truly intent on becoming better
at guitar, the best guitar playing tips are always devoted to practicing. Whatever kind of practice you do, make
sure you do it at least once a day and that you spend at least 20 minutes doing so. Hold the guitar right, pick it
right with alternating up and down strokes and learn your chords and scales. Do all these things and you’ll be
playing the guitar like a pro in no time.
